The Sultan of Johor’s new Boeing 737 aircraft landed at the Senai International Airport .

Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar was at the airport to view the aircraft after it landed at 1.30pm, The Star reported.

The plane was painted in gold and blue. It bore the Johor royal crest on its tail, with the royal and state flags gracing its body.

The Sultan said the plane took two years to be completed. It has a dining room, bedroom, shower and three galleys.

Sultan Ibrahim is an avid collector of luxury vehicles, including cars, motorcycles and trucks.

The Star said the plane, which seats at least 30, travelled from Los Angeles to Hawaii and Honolulu before arriving at Senai.

It will be parked at the royal hangar at the airport, with several other aircraft and helicopters.

Sultan Ibrahim said his latest aircraft would be used to promote Johor and he may take on board officials during his visits.

The Sultan, who can fly planes, hoped to undergo simulator training in Brisbane before flying the plane later.

“I want to travel the world like my ancestors who once travelled around in ships,” he told The Star.

He said he may even take a flight to Penang for nasi kandar.

He also hoped to send the less fortunate for the haj pilgrimage on his plane.

The Sultan had earlier purchased the world’s most expensive Mack truck, built in Brisbane.
