The Ka-52K helicopter is to be tested for the stability of the craft’s on-board equipment in relation to the effects of electromagnetic interference.

At the present time, preparations are being made to conduct tests to assess the durability of on-board radio-electronic equipment and air weapons to the effects of external electromagnetic fields. A new inertial navigation system is also being tested.

The all-weather Ka-52K scout/attack helicopter is designed for patrolling, fire support of assault forces when landing on the shore, solving the counterlanding defence tasks at the forefront and in tactical depth at any time of the day and night. Modern on-board equipment provides helicopters with navigation in the absence of checkpoints in the sea.

Ship-based Ka-52’s reduced dimensions allow increase in the maximum possible number of helicopters placed on the deck. The armoured crew cabin and application of a catapult system unique for the world helicopter industry provide the pilots with the maximum level of safety that cannot be offered on any helicopter of this type produced abroad. Another important feature of the Ka-52K is the use of corrosion-resistant materials, which is due to the need of the craft to work in a humid maritime climate.
