Skyfarer Academy, the growing aviation training platform, is expanding its offerings to include in-person flight instruction, connecting student pilots with local flight instructors and flight schools. Originally launched as a live online aviation education hub, Skyfarer Academy is now bridging the gap between virtual pilot training and real-world instruction with a flexible, training-first platform designed to meet the evolving needs of students, individual flight instructors and flight schools across the United States.

This expansion marks a significant step in its mission to modernize and simplify flight training for pilots at all levels—from first-time students to advanced pilots pursuing specialized training. Skyfarer Academy also aims to help flight instructors build their student portfolio or break into flight instructing entirely.

Todd Davis, Chief Aviation Officer of Skyfarer Academy commented: “Many students still struggle to find quality instruction locally, and many instructors and schools lack a streamlined way to showcase their services and connect with students. This expansion is about creating that trusted, all-in-one place where both sides can connect more easily and effectively.”

Nick Tsang, CEO of Skyfarer Academy stated: “We’re excited by the response. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how quickly instructors, flight schools, and pilots at all stages are finding value in the platform—especially as we focus on simplifying one of the most complex and important journeys in aviation.”

For years, pilots have struggled to find the right instructor—often relying on word-of- mouth or scattered online directories. Many skilled independent instructors and small flight schools remain under the radar, making the search process fragmented and time- consuming. They must sift through internet searches, social media recommendations, and outdated listings, often missing out on smaller school operations or specialized training opportunities.

Skyfarer Academy eliminates these challenges by consolidating a diverse range of instructors and schools into a single platform. With discovery features and enhanced functionalities, students can easily filter, and find instructors and schools based on location, expertise, and other detailed preferences. The platform initially focused on live online instruction and is now expanding to offer in-person training, providing even greater flexibility and accessibility for students.

Alex Witherspoon, COO of Skyfarer Academy said :“This expansion was born out of our personal experiences in aviation and the challenges many pilots face in finding flight instruction in their own locations. We’ve been involved in aviation for years, and one thing we kept hearing from pilots was how difficult it was to find the right instructor—especially for specialized training needs.”

Skyfarer Academy’s approach combines online ground instruction with in-person training, delivering a more complete and flexible learning experience for pilots at every stage. The platform remains committed to its training-accessibility-first philosophy— ensuring that quality aviation education is available to anyone, regardless of location.

Flexible Formats: Whether students prefer live online instruction or in-person training, Skyfarer Academy offers solutions to suit their personalized needs.

Opportunities for Instructors and Schools: Independent instructors, flight schools, and flying clubs now have a dedicated platform to expand their reach and impact by engaging with more students.
