Jeppesen, a Boeing Company, and the Joint Aviation Authorities Training Organization (JAA TO) have signed an initial Memorandum of Understanding to determine the potential for co-offering European-based aviation training programs. The agreement will look to integrate JAA TO expertise in multiple fields of aviation safety with Jeppesen’s extensive pilot training, flight dispatch and licensing preparation capabilities.

“Jeppesen is a leading player in the aviation industry. Therefore, we are very pleased to be their partner and JAA TO looks forward to jointly enroll the Flight Dispatch Essentials Course,” said Paula V. de Almeida, director, JAA TO. Combining the expertise of both Jeppesen and JAA TO is another step to increase the safety in the aviation industry.”

With the signing of the initial agreement, Jeppesen and the JAA TO will research the best way to work collectively to offer multiple EASA-focused training programs, starting with the Flight Dispatch Essentials course. Training courses to follow could feature learning on varying subjects, including other flight dispatch elements and regulatory and administrative operations for airlines and aviation operators, to fully prepare participants for the rigors of the aviation profession.

“We look forward to teaming with the JAA TO for offering aviation training courses in Europe,” said Jason Tepool, senior manager, Jeppesen Aviation Training Solutions. “This agreement paves the way for both organizations to achieve our shared vision for furthering European training capabilities, which could include further standardization processes and the potential for dispatch training licensing in the future.”

Illustrating Jeppesen’s capabilities with instituting professional training processes while teaming with leading aviation authorities and training providers, the company recently announced a program with TSI, University of Applied Sciences in Riga, Latvia, to develop professional Flight Dispatch / Flight Operations Training courses. These classes are a part of the university’s academic curriculum, where students are able to achieve professional dispatch licensing.

Jeppesen’s numerous aviation training programs provide a complete theory and practical learning environment that is ICAO, FAA and EASA-compliant.
