On December 8th 2015, Academy 147 Limited, a training organisation based in Malta received CAR 147 maintenance training organisation approval from the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in the United Arab Emirates. Academy 147 made its initial plunge into the Middle East's rapidly growing market for maintenance training in 2015 and has pursued the GCAA approval in order to further establish its presence in the region.

Academy 147 currently holds both EASA and GCAA approvals and offers a wide range of training courses on business jets as well as commercial aircraft.

“We see the Middle East as one of the most dynamic and growing markets for aviation services in the world” says Nick Ebenhoeh, accountable manager of Academy 147.

According to director Andrew Trinchero “Our approach to training is unique and has received great feedback from students. We can offer B1 Mechanical or B2 Avionics as well combined B1/B2 courses depending on the needs of the customer. The GCAA approval is highly regarded in the GCC region and we're hoping that this approval will open the door to new opportunities.”

Academy 147 specialises in on-site maintenance training including both the theoretical and practical element as well as general familiarisation and engine ground run training.
