For the eighth year in a row, Leonardo has been incorporated in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) Europe. The company’s consistent presence in the Dow Jones equity indices reflects Leonardo’s commitment to a sustainability approach that integrates environmental, social and governance aspects into its business strategy, supporting corporate processes and the capacity to innovate.

DJSI, launched in 1999, includes listed companies that meet high standards of performance in sustainability. The rigorous annual assessment that determines admission to the indices is performed by RobecoSAM, a specialised Swiss asset manager.

“Maintaining our place in this important index is a recognition that, when it comes to sustainability, Leonardo is committed to pursuing ever higher and more challenging standards” Alessandro Profumo, CEO of Leonardo, commented. “Thanks to Leonardo’s people, we will continue to be able to build on our heritage of skills, values and technologies that empower us to compete on a global scale and seize newly emerging opportunities, creating value for our stakeholders.”

Leonardo’s Chairman Giovanni De Gennaro also expressed satisfaction in the achievement “Together with the Board of Directors, we will continue monitoring Leonardo’s sustainability performances and we will promote every initiative aimed at maintaining and enhancing ethics and responsible business conduct.”

In 2017, Leonardo is one of 8 Aerospace and Defence companies and part of the group of 8 Italian-based companies incorporated in the DJSI, achieving excellent performance in risk and crisis management and compliance with export controls.
