With one year to go until the event, the Dubai Airshow 2019 organisers have announced that they are anticipating the show to be bigger than ever. When it returns to DWC, Dubai Airshow site the show is predicted to boast 1300 exhibitors and attract up to 87,000 aerospace professionals across its five day run.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) recently forecast the Middle East will see an extra 290 million air passengers on routes to, from and within the region by 2037. In addition, research by Capgemini found that, as of March 2017, 62% of aerospace and defence companies had a smart manufacturing initiative. As a result of both this growth and high-tech advancements, emerging technologies such as additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence and blockchain are having increasing effects on all areas of the aerospace supply chain.

Dubai Airshow 2019 will have an increased focused on sector specific conferences and pavilions, reflecting these growing industry areas and bringing together experts and key stakeholders in order to share knowledge and help drive growth. These include Smart Manufacturing, Space, Cargo Connect, Airport Solutions Dubai and Global Air Traffic Management (GATM). Each will include a conference and a dedicated pavilion on the show floor. The conferences will run for one or two days each and take place throughout the Dubai Airshow.

As in previous years, the Dubai Airshow 2019 has attracted new exhibitors from around the globe, including DEPO from Pakistan, INETEC from Croatia and Pattonair from the UK, among others. This is in addition to returning exhibitors from all sectors of the industry, ensuring that the show remains at the forefront of aerospace in the region and beyond.

Recent announcements have demonstrated the UAE Government’s commitment to aerospace and technological advancements as a key pillar of the country’s development, including Dubai Airports Engineering Projects (DAEP) plans for Al Maktoum International to become a 'cosmic super-port' handling hypersonic and space aircraft in the future; and the goal of having 25 per cent of Dubai’s buildings 3D printed by 2030.

“The Dubai Airshow is a must attend event in the aerospace calendar,” say Michele van Akelijen, Managing Director of show organisers Tarsus F&E LLC Middle East. “With the interest we have seen from new exhibitors plus the incredible growth in emerging technologies represented at the show, I am confident the 2019 edition will be bigger than previous years.”

The Dubai Airshow takes place 17-21 November 2019 at DWC, Dubai Airshow Site. For more information or to book your space, please contact [email protected] or visit www.dubaiarshow.aero.
