One simple question - do you think there are a lot of women in aviation, in corporate aviation? What is the first idea, first similarity if we say women and aviation? I guess the majority will tell flight attendant. Some will think about female pilots. There are some women moving forward corporate aviation, giving their best on TOP managing positions.
Sophie Mabire, General Manager of Geneva Airpark for the past 12 years, is one of the few women who has made her mark in the world of business aviation. We are quite sure that her special "female" touch and way of thinking has lead the company through corona times so it would become even stronger.
Here she presents the main stages of this infrastructure, which was designed to better serve business aviation at Geneva airport and remain in line with the changes in the sector in the long term.

After 15 years of preparations, the hangar, private ramp and 7-storey Geneva Airpark building, covering 20,000 sq m in the southern area of Geneva airport, became operational in 2009. This whole infrastructure responded to the airport authorities’ desire to develop optimal conditions for hosting business jets in Switzerland.
The Geneva Airpark hangar hosted its first aircraft, a Falcon 2000, in June 2009.
From 2011, Geneva Airpark reinforced its offer with in-house services for aircraft and crews.
At the top of the hangar record list: 27 aircraft sheltered together for one night in 2015.
The size of the jets hosted by Geneva Airpark increased by 40 % over 10 years. The surface area of the hangar and the technical resources used were adapted to this progression.
A loyal team: most of the members have been working for Geneva Airpark for over 10 years.
Obtaining the IS-BAH label followed by the PART-145 line maintenance certification confirmed the expertise of the team’s technicians.
In 2020, Geneva Airpark expanded its range of jet sheltering options to offer turnarounds of a few hours.
To remain in tune with the new demands of the business aviation community, the hangar has hosted a Bombardier line maintenance station since spring 2021.
PART-145 certified Geneva Airpark has been operational at Geneva Airport since 2009 and offers a range of services for business aviation. Geneva Airpark has 20,000 sq m of facilities (hangar, ramp, offices, car park), directly accessible from the runway, near Geneva Airport’s C3 business aviation Terminal.
