The day has come, once reached Oberpfaffenhofen Airport and found brand new DC Aviation facility, I was very much looking forward the official opening. First impression – spacious, classy, and very welcoming facility. The curtain was hiding the hangar, letting guests discover the facility step by step.
First surprise – invitation to an exclusive 30 min flight… with Zeppelin! Personally for me, this was a lifetime experience. When you think that there are less Zeppelin pilots around the World then astronauts….You know you’re lucky to live it. Discovery of Five Lakes region from the Zeppelin was amazing. During the flight we had the chance to ask a lot of questions to our pilots. I think Zeppelin deserves an article a part, so stay tuned as we say.

Some information regarding Oberpfaffenhofen Airport. The Oberpfaffenhofen Airport is one of the 12 airports in the interest of the federal government. It is unique in Germany as a works and research airport as well as for qualified business flights and is the heart of the Aerospace Oberpfaffenhofen campus.
Together with the neighboring German Aerospace Center and other industry-specific companies, around 7,500 people work at the site today, around 3,500 of them at the airport. The airport maps the entire process chain of aircraft and aviation technology, from education to research and development to pre-production, production and maintenance - from large companies to start-ups.

In a welcoming speech Michael Kuhn, Chief Executive Officer of DC Aviation, reminded the road made till the official opening ceremony - how decision to land in Munich was taken, how the project and construction works were handled. Mr.Kuhn stated : “The opening of this new location is another milestone in the strategic expansion of DC Aviation presence. Our customers will benefit from the excellent connections to the Munich business location and the Five Lakes region. Only 25 kilometers from the city center, Oberpfaffenhofen Airport is more conveniently located than Munich Airport. With our own parking lot at the hangar, easy check-in, and direct access to the aircraft, transfer times for our customers have been considerably shortened."

The countdown all together and the curtain falls, letting everyone enjoy a firework and spacious hangar, with a selection of jets and helicopters, as well as sports cars.

There was enough time to visit aircraft, enjoy the networking with colleagues and friends of the industry.

We wish all the best for this new DC Aviation location.
