Comlux America has been awarded a Foreign EASA 145 Certificate making them the first stand-alone EASA certificate holder in the USA.
The certificate allows Comlux to perform base maintenance and interior completions on European Union (EU) registered aircraft not type certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Since 2011 Comlux America has held an EASA supplement to their FAA Part 145 that allowed for maintenance and completions of EU registered aircraft. The company holds a number of other authorities from countries around the world.
Arnaud Martin, executive vice president at Comlux Aviation, said: “A Foreign EASA 145 Certificate for Comlux America opens the doors for even more opportunities in the future for Comlux.
“This certification demonstrates the high quality of our organisation , recognised on both sides of the Atlantic. [This is] an advantage over our US and European based competitors, as we can now perform work just as if we were based in Europe.”
Comlux America recently completed the first wide body aircraft, an A330 in its new hangar facility in Indianapolis. There are currently three aircraft under completion at the facility.
