Scoot, the low-cost, medium-haul arm of the Singapore Airlines Group, which operates an all-787 Dreamliner fleet, is set to launch operations to India beginning May.
Scoot will start operating to Chennai and Amritsar from Singapore on May 24, and begin services to Jaipur on October 2.
“Scoot is excited to bring our proposition of value travel and service with Scootitude to guests in India – who will soon be able to fly to amazing destinations in our network through the Singapore hub – on our brand-new 787 Dreamliners featuring in-flight connectivity, in-seat power and a wide range of customisation options,” Scoot’s CEO, Campbell Wilson said. “Our launch in Chennai will complement the SIA Group’s existing services.”
Scoot launched operations in June 2012. The world’s first all-787 Dreamliner fleet operates between Singapore and Sydney, Gold Coast, Bangkok, Taipei, Tokyo, Tianjin, Shenyang, Nanjing, Qingdao, Seoul, Hong Kong, Perth, Osaka, Kaohsiung, Hangzhou, Melbourne and Guangzhou, and will soon add Jeddah and Sapporo, apart from Chennai, Amritsar, Jaipur.
To mark its launch in India, Scoot is offering a limited-time promotion till April 28 for guests booking from India to Scoot’s destinations across its network. “One-way economy fares from Chennai, Amritsar and Jaipur start from $64 to Singapore and $189 to Sydney, $179 and $459 for ScootBiz to Singapore and Sydney respectively,” the airline said in a statement.
