Moscow and Nicosia are in talks on the use of Cyprus airports and ports by Russia on favorable conditions in case of emergency situations, Russia's Embassy in Cyprus said Monday.

The spokesperson said that the sides are discussing privileges similar to those granted by Cyprus to France.

"At the moment, privileges on the use of airports and ports in case of emergency situations are being discussed," an embassy spokesperson told RIA Novosti, noting that "there is no talk of any military use of the sites."
