The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has issued its 2016 subsidy policy for 152 small civilian airports, which will receive subsidies amounting to 1.31 billion yuan next year, according to an announcement released on CAAC's website on Thursday.

According to the announcement, 152 small airports are among the beneficiaries and each will get a subsidy ranging from 1.11 million yuan to 18.16 million yuan.

Among the 152 airports, Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport will get the most subsidiary (18.16 million yuan), followed by Kashgar Airport (17.34 million yuan) and Aksu Airport (15.92 million yuan).

It is learnt that most of the small airports are suffering losses due to insufficient traffic flow and have to be subsidized by the government to survive.

The money will come from the Civil Aviation Development Fund. The Finance Department of CAAC is now soliciting public comments on the announcement until Dec. 5, 2015.
