The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has authorized six more routes connecting the Chinese mainland cities with Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan in the third quarter of 2015, according to an announcement posted on its website on October 10.

From July to September 2015, the CAAC granted permits for three Chinese mainland airlines and one Taiwan carrier to launch six new routes to Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Hainan Airlines (HU) was given the green light to launch a thrice-weekly flight between Haikou and Macau from August 23.

Shenzhen Airlines (ZH) got the CAAC approval to operate thrice-weekly Harbin-Yantai-Hong Kong service from August 20.

China Eastern Airlines (MU), approved by the aviation watchdog, will start thrice-weekly Xining-Xi'an-Hong Kong service scheduled from October 25.

Taiwan-based China Airlines (CI) was approved to launch two cargo services from Taoyuan to Zhengzhou and Nanjing once a week in late October, and one passenger service between Kaohsiung and Changzhou twice a week from September 16.

In addition, the permits for Air China (CA)'s Hohhot-Taoyuan flight and China Eastern's Lijiang-Taoyuan flight have expired effective September 21.
