Dubai-based Al-Futtaim has signed a lease agreement with Dubai South for a 10,000sqm plot of land adjacent to the existing facility of DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF) as part of the expansion plans of the only fully integrated business aviation facility based out of Al Maktoum International Airport (AMIA).
The new plot will drastically increase the operational potential and capabilities of DCAF which currently occupies a state-of-the-art business aviation facility at AMIA spanning 14,700sqm.
“Our commitment to Dubai’s ever growing aviation industry and the government’s ambition to establish the emirate as a truly global hub for commercial and private operators is reinforced today with this agreement in order to plan the next phase of our successful business aviation joint venture,” said Omar Al-Futtaim, vice chairman, Al-Futtaim. “We always plan ahead taking a long-term strategic view and this agreement is the precursor of more exciting developments for Al-Futtaim, Dubai’s private aviation sector and the wider Dubai South area.”
