Riyadh Air has achieved a significant milestone as its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner successfully completed its initial test flight (B1 Flight) today. The aircraft took off from Boeing’s facility in Charleston, South Carolina, USA, marking the start of a comprehensive test flight program to be conducted within the United States.
The flight was operated by Boeing’s test pilots as part of the manufacturer-led standard certification procedures. Upon completion of the full test program and receipt of the required certifications, the process will move to the next phase, during which Riyadh Air’s pilots will conduct further tests, followed by the official delivery of the aircraft to Riyadh Air.

This milestone represents a pivotal step in Riyadh Air’s journey to receive its fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and reflects the company’s steady progress toward operational readiness. The successful first test flight also underscores Riyadh Air’s commitment to the highest standards of safety, performance, and operational excellence, as it prepares to help shape the future of the aviation sector.
