IAC: Version of error of pilots of Boeing that crashed in Rostov-on-Don not final

Russia’s Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) has so far not arrived at the definite conclusion that it was the pilots’ error that caused a Boeing passenger plane crash at Rostov-on-Don airport, IAC sources told TASS on Tuesday.

"The work is still underway to establish the causes of what happened and how it happened. We have not arrived at any definite conclusions here that we could voice," the committee sources said.

The IAC representatives said that there are no versions of the catastrophe that could be voiced. "All the data will be voiced on April 19 and presented in a preliminary report that will be posted on the [IAC] website," they added.

The FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 plane crashed at Rostov-on-Don airport, southern Russia, in harsh weather conditions on March 19 this year. All the 62 people onboard died. Criminal proceedings were initiated into the crash (on charges of violation of safety regulations during the movement and operation of air transport that caused the death of two and more people).

Previously, the Interstate Aviation Committee reported that the Boeing had a valid Certificate of Airworthiness; had undergone regular technical maintenance and was in good technical order at the time of departure.

The UAE government established the FlyDubai low-cost airline in 2008. The first flight was in 2009. The airline has been flying to Russia since 2009. It transported 9.04 million passengers (25% more than in 2014) in 2015. FlyDubai jets fly to 95 destinations, including the Russian cities of Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Ufa, Krasnodar and Mineralnye Vody.
