Gulf Air has selected Dell EMC's Data Domain and Data Protection Suite solutions for a highly scalable protection and availability foundation to support rapid data growth. The national airline of Bahrain says it will leverage the solution's backup and recovery capabilities to help meet its data accessibility requirements.
Gulf Air says it expects its user-generated data to grow by 12 percent in the next 18 months which it will optimize to develop an array of products and services.
The airline says it will deploy the Dell EMC data protection solution to facilitate business continuity and growth by powering the IT transformation of its existing storage infrastructure, reduce related costs, future-proofing it with advanced efficiencies and safeguarding critical data and processes.
Dr. Jassim Haji, Gulf Air’s Director Information Technology said the Dell deal was proof of the airline’s “eye on the needs of the future.”
He added: “As a national carrier with a long heritage of delivering exceptional passenger satisfaction, we are committed to providing our customers with leading-edge products and services – which can be hampered by a lack of real-time data access. Data protection and availability solutions help ensure that our current IT environment not only facilitates a high level of data availability, but also extends enhanced data protection and recovery at industry-leading speed.”
