An All Nippoon Airways (NH) flight bound for Tokyo Narita returned to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) Monday morning after a bird strike, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The flight crew reported that the left engine was struck by a bird shortly after taking off from Guangzhou airport and required to return the aircraft to Guangzhou immediately.

Flight NH934 has landed safely at Guangzhou airport, and no injuries were reported, the source said.

The flight was operated by a Boeing 763, Registration JA610A, at an age of 12.9 years.
