AirAsia Group, including medium haul affiliate airlines AirAsia X and Thai AirAsia X have been once again confirmed as one of the safest low cost carriers in the world for 2024 by the aviation experts at AirlineRatings.com. Factors used to decide the top 20 safest low cost airlines include incident records, fleet age, results of audits conducted by the governing body of aviation - The International Civil Aviation Organisation, as well as EU banned lists. This follows the award for AirAsia Group as the top low cost carrier in Asia by AirlineRatings.com in May 2023.
