5 helicopters evacuate victims of traffic accident on Skandinavia motorway
Three helicopters have taken off from Pulkovo airport to evacuate the injured in the traffic accident that happened at Saturday, January 30 in Vyborg District, Leningrad Region on the 158th km of the Skandinavia motorway.
Two of the helicopters (K-32 and Mi-8) are provided by Emergencies Ministry Air Rescue Center of the Northwestern Regional Center and one Bell-244 by med evac aviation (Medspas).
A tourist coach and a truck collided on the motorway. The injured were taken to the Central District Hospital in the town of Vyborg.
At present, medical brigades of the Nikiforov Russian Center for Disaster and Radiation Medicine and Territorial Center for Disaster Medicine of Leningrad Region, who arrived aboard the helicopters, are now at Vyborg District Hospital examining the injured.
The doctors are going to decide whether or not the injured could be transported to hospitals in Saint Petersburg.

5 aircrafts, 2 helicopters of the Northwestern Air Rescue Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and 3 helicopters of the Leningrad Region Ministry of Healthcare have quickly delivered 10 people injured in the traffic accident in Leningrad Region to hospitals in Saint Petersburg. Another injured was delivered in a resuscitation ambulance van.
During the evacuation the injured did not get worse. They were accompanied by the Nikiforov Russian Center for Disaster and Radiation Medicine and Territorial Center for Disaster Medicine of Leningrad Region.
7 people were delivered to the Dzhanelidze Research Institute, three to Leningrad Region Clinical Hospital No 1, one child to children’s clinical hospital No 5.
At present, 3 of the injured are staying in the Central District Hospital in Vyborg, two of them cannot be transported, 8 people received medical aid on site.
91 people and 24 units of equipment, including 55 people and 9 units of equipment provided by the Russian Emergencies Ministry were involved in dealing with the traffic accident.
The hot line was set up in the Emergencies Ministry for Leningrad Region: 8-800-100-20-01
