Jet Airways hard lands, Directorate General asks for inquiry

The pilot of the Jet Airways plane which had a narrow escape from a mishap on Friday, further endangered the passengers by not using the emergency evacuation plan, reports a leading English daily.
The carrier had a high risk of catching fire after coming to a halt tilting on its right side with the right engine touching the ground.
Nearly 120 passengers and eight crew members onboard the flight 9W 354 from New Delhi stayed inside the plane after its main landing gear collapsed when it landed here.

Major sparks were seen from under the engine as it scraped the ground during landing.
