Accident: Batik B739 at Yokyakarta on Nov. 6, 2015, Overran Runway
A Batik Air Boeing 737-900, registration PK-LBO performing flight ID-6380 from Jakarta to Yokyakarta (Indonesia) with 160 passengers and 5 crew, landed on Yokyakarta's runway 09 (length 2,200 meters/7,220 feet) but overran the end of the runway and came to a stop about 100 meters off paved surface with the nose gear collapsed. The passengers were evacuated. No injuries are being reported, the aircraft received substantial damage.
Indonesia's Ministry of Transport reported initial statement from the pilots was the runway was very slippery. The Ministry stated however that of 10 aircraft landing in the present rainy weather only one slipped, so the investigation by NTSC will probably look into human factors rather than weather related issues.
No weather data are available from Yogyakarta at all, local media reports state it was raining heavily at the time of the landing and speak of a "water landing".
